Old Masters beat College Oak 4-2 with leg scores of 11-14, 15-11, 14-7. For OM J.Barguss 11, G.Barguss10 & D.Coles (making his debut) hit 8 dolls. M.Hall also recorded 8 despite missing the 1st leg. OM’s 40 dolls was their highest total so far. For The Oak D.Johns 9 & J.Knight (another debutant) hit 8.

The Fox recorded their 2nd 6-0 win on the trot, this time against Ab.Utd. ‘A’. The leg scores were 15-10, 15-13, 13-9. For The Fox D.Cross & B.Parker both hit a 6 in their 13 dolls each & D.Butler 8. For Utd. ‘A’ B.Spicer 9 & D.Davies 7. Their 26 dolls was their lowest total so far.

Spread Eagle’s lowest total so far (35) was enough to beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2. The leg scores were 11-5, 15-12, 9-12. For The Spread J.Simmons 12 & G.Brown 9. For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin top scored with 8 dolls. Utd. ‘B’ also recorded their lowest total so far (29).

Ab. Legion beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 6-0 with leg scores of 11-8, 12-9, 15-10. For The Legion D.Sapey 10, P.Ealey & C.Brind 8 each & N.Tait 7. For Utd. ‘C’ (who are still actually talking to me by the way) I.Brown top scored with 7 dolls.

The Heathens beat the high flying Ab. Con. Club 6-0 with leg scores of 12-11, 19-11, 13-10. For The Heathens M.Sheridan 13, P.Soden 10, D.Holmes, M.Wood & A.Wooloff 7 each. For The Con. Club P.Barrett 9 & J.Simms 8. The Con. Clubs 32 dolls was their lowest total so far.

p.s. Will try and get all 7 matches played tonight if we can, certainly first 6 games which ensures every team gets a game. Will play the last game if we have time and the 2 teams involved can be bothered to hang around to find out. Good luck to all. The Fox beat Spread Eagle 6-0 with leg scores of 12-11, 21-15, 15-13. For The Fox Dave ‘On Fire’ Butler clanged off 14, B.Parker 11, D.Cross 10 & A.Bell included a 6 and a blob in his 8 dolls. In reply for The Spread G.Brown 10, J.Simmons & S.Kinnaird 9 each & M.Phillips 8.

Ab. Con. Club beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 6-0 with leg scores of 14-11, 15-11, 16-14. For Con. Club J.Simms 11, R.North & P.Barrett 10 each , T.Barrett & B.Clapton 7 each. For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 10, A.Gregory 9 & D.Harris 7.

The Heathens struggled to a 4-2 win over Ab. Utd. ‘C’. The leg scores were 8-10, 12-9, 15-9. For The Heathens M.Sheridan 12 & T.Downes 11. The rest of us were c**p. For Utd. ‘C’ I.Brown top scored with 8 dolls.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat College Oak 6-0, their 2nd 6-0 defeat on the bounce. The leg scores were 14-6, 13-7, 13-9. For Utd. ‘A’ T.Ward included a 6 in his 15 dolls, although by his own admission did have a slightly dubious 5 in the 3rd leg. D.Davies 11 & P.Wright 7. For The Oak A.Pocock top scored with 10 dolls. Last week it was F.Tracey with 3 blobs, this week it was V.Smith who recorded the same score, or should that be no-score. Bit of advice chaps, don’t enter the pairs together.

Ab. Legion beat Penlon 5-1 with leg scores of 11-11, 13-12, 13-8. For The Legion P.Ealey & N.Hazell 9 each, N.Tait & C.Brind 8 each. For Penlon C.Crawford 10 & T.Lach 8.

p.s. I.will be forming the sections after tonights games so it might be a good time to remind you that YOU voted for a 1 up, 1 down promotion and relegation system to be implemented. Last year Ab. Legion won ‘B’ section and Ab. Con. Club finished runners up. It was when Ab. Utd. ‘B’ won ‘B’ section 2 years on the trot that YOU voted for this system, so you see I have a bit of a dilema on my hands.

p.p.s. I think severall people were asking the question last week ‘When did The Fox sign D.Cross on’?. The categorical answer to that is that his name was on The Fox registration list when handed to me by Barry on the 10th, the night most teams handed their list in. There were 14 names on The Fox registration form. Yes, I had to laugh to myself as well.

The Heathens beat Old Masters 4-2 with leg scores of 12-14, 18-7, 16-13. For The Heathens T.Downes 12, M.Sheridan 11, D.Holmes 9 & A.Woolloff 8. For OM M.Hall 11, J.Barguss 8 & G.Barguss 7.

Ab. Legion beat Ab. Utd. ‘A’ 6-0 with leg scores of 16-11, 12-11, 14-13. For The Legion C.Brind 11, N.Hazell 9, D.Sapey 8, N.Tait & P.Ealey 7 each. In reply for Utd. ‘A’ P.Wright & I.Morrison 11 each & T.Ward 7. B.Duff throwing like a partially sighted Australian sheep shearer managed just 1 doll.

Ab.Con. Club beat College Oak 6-0 with leg scores of 14-6, 13-9, 17-10. For Con. Club Brian ‘Cracker’ Clapton 12, J.Sims 11, P.Barrett 10 & T.Barrett 7. For The Oak B.Hudson top scored with 9 dolls. F.Tracey obviously could not see the doll as he didn’t hit it once. I’m beginning to wonder if he can see letter box’s as an awful lot of letters go missing every week.

Ab.Utd. ‘B’ beat Penlon 4-2. The leg scores were 12-14, 15-9, 14-11. For Utd. ‘B’ A.Gregory hit 11 dolls. S.Martin also hit 11 but included a 6, K.Souch 8 & D.Harris 7. For Penlon T.Lach & C.Crawford each hit 9 dolls.

Ab. Utd. ‘C’ caused an upset by beating 4 man Fox 4-2 with leg scores of 10-8, 11-9, 7-14. For Utd. ‘C’ I.Brown 9 & J.Warrell 7. In reply D.Butler 11, B.Parker included a 6 in his 10 and R.Nicholls 8. It was pointed out to me last week that The Fox have not won the ‘A’ Section since the 1997-98 season, in which time they have finished runners up 6 times. I’m sure they will be looking to rectify that.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ and Ab. Utd. ‘B’ kicked off the new season with a 3-3 draw. The leg scores were 11-11, 15-13, 12-15. For Utd. ‘A’ T.Ward 10, I.Morrison 8, the returning B.Spicer & M.Davies 7 each. For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 11, A.Gregory & P.Arnold 8 each & K.Souch 7.

The Fox beat Ab. Con. Club 4-2 with leg scores of 15-15, 16-12, 14-14. For The Fox D.Butler hit a cracking 15 dolls (6-6-3), A.Bell 10, N.Weston & B.Parker 8 each. In reply for Con. Club T.Barrett, P.Wiblin & B.Clapton (making his debut) each scored 9 dolls & ‘The New Boy’ P.Barrett 8.

The reigning champions Spread Eagle beat The Heathens 4-2 with leg scores of 15-12, 17-15, 16-18. For The Spread J.Simmons hit his usual 13, J.Bowler 11, J.Gapper 10 & M.Phillips 9. For The Heathens P.Soden 11, A.Woolloff 10, M.Sheridan & T.Downes 9 each.

Old Masters beat Ab. Legion 4-2 with leg scores of 13-14, 14-6, 10-7. For OM G.Barguss 12 & M.Hall 8. For The Legion C.Brind 8 & N.Hazell 7. P.Ealey started his season with 2 blobs.

College Oak beat Penlon 4-2 with leg scores of 8-13, 12-8, 15-11. For the new look Oak B.Hudson 9, C.Bishop 8 & D.Johns 7. For Penlon T.Lach & C.Crawford (pre season signing) each scored 10 dolls.
