Ab. Utd. ‘B’ inflicted a third straight defeat on 4 man Fox with a 6-0 win. The leg scores were 11-10, 15-14, 15-9. For Utd. ‘B’ P.Mulford, B.Clapton & D.Davies each scored 10 & I.Morrison 7. For The Fox M.Sheridan included a 6 in his 14 dolls & B.Parker 11. P . Stone managed just 3 dolls – ( have you thought of joining the Wednesday night crib league Paul).
Spread Eagle beat Penlon 5-1 with leg scores of 10-9, 11-9, 12-12. For The Spread B.Newman 9 & S.Kinnaird 7. In reply for Penlon V.Smith top scored with 8 dolls.
College Oak beat Ab. Legion 4-2 with leg scores of 10-16, 17-11, 12-10. For The Oak A.Pocock included a 6 in his 11 dolls, D.Cross 8, P.Soden & F.Tracey 7 each. For The Legion D.Sapey 10, J.Driver 8, B.Lacey &
P .Ealey 7 each.
Old Masters beat Ab.Utd. ‘c’ 4-2 with leg scores of5 (yes f…f. .. five) -7, 17-8, 15-11. For OM T.Downes 11, J.Barguss 9 & G.Barguss 8. For Utd. ‘c’ K.Souch 8 & S.Martin 7. For A.Gregory read write up for P.Stone.
Ab. Utd. ‘A’ took full advantage of The Foxs setback by beating Ab. Con. Club 6-0 with leg scores of 15-10, 16-14, 16-7. For Utd. ‘A’ B.Spicer 12, L.Clapton 11, S.Pugh 10 & G.Brown 9. In reply for Con Club M.Haynes 9 & T.Barrett 7.
p.s. After tonights singles preliminary round I will have a better idea of how to get outstanding competition games played. I’ve decided against playing any Captains Cup games after a league night as would be something else for someone to whinge about.
p.p.s. Bill, if you could let me know when it would be conveinient for you to play your Fives semi final so that I can arrange all the other competitions around it.
