Ab. Legion beat Ab. Con. Club 6-0 with leg scores of 9-6, 16-7, 11-9. For The Legion D.Sapey 11, P.Ealey 9, B.Lacey & N.Hazell 7 each. In reply for The Con. Club J.Simms top scored with 8 dolls. J.Castle throwing like an arthritic Albanian blacksmith managed just 1 doll. But it made O.Gill look good – he got 2. The Con. Clubs 22 dolls equalled their lowest total of last week.

College Oak drew 3-3 with Ab. Utd. ‘C’ with leg scores of 13-13, 13-15, 14-7. For The Oak A.Pocock 11, D.Cross 9, F.Trcaey & S.Enock 7 each. For Utd. ‘C’ A.Gregory 9, S.Martin included a 6 in his 9 & D.Harris 7.

Old Masters were a little fortunate to beat Ab. Utd. ‘A’ 4-2 with leg scores of 16-13, 11-12, 16-13. For OM the returning ‘Prodigal Son’, J.Barguss top scored with 12, A.Woolloff 11, G.Barguss & M.Hall 7 each. For Utd. ‘A’ L.Clapton 10, B.Duff 9, B.Spicer 8 & G.Brown 7.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat 4 man Fox 6-0 with leg scores of 14-10, 14-11, 18-15. For Utd. ‘B’ I.Morrison 12, B.Clapton 10, D.Holmes& D.Davies 9 each. For The Fox the evergreen M.Sheridan top scored with 13 dolls. D.Butler hit 10 & B.Parker 9. Utd. ‘B’s 46 dolls was their highest total of the season.

Spread Eagle beat Penlon 6-0 with leg scores of 16-11, 15-3 (yes three), 18-10. For The Spread J.Bowler 12, M.Phillips 11, D.Mott 10, B.Newman & S.Kinnaird 8 each. For Penlon Vic ‘I don’t want to play , I’ve got a bad back’ Smith top scored with 7 dolls. What a trooper !! The Spreads 49 dolls was their highest total of the season while Penlons 24 was their lowest.

p.s. Next week it’s the singles competition so make a point of looking at the order of play, which if I remember will put on the notice board tonight.

p.p.s. I think you will agree that keeping Utd. ‘B’ in the ‘B’ section has given the sections a more balanced look. To the doubters, I don’t want to say I told you so but……….
