Game reports.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 5-1 with leg scores of 12-5, 12-8, 11-11.  For The Spread S.Humhries managed a 6 and a blob in his 10 and J.Bowler also hit 10 dolls.  For Utd. ‘C’M.James 6 and Irishman Jon O’Warrell also hit 6. 

Top of ‘B’ section clash saw 2nd place Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat leaders Ab. Legion 4-2 and Legions 32 dolls was their lowest total so far.  The leg scores were 13-8, 8-14, 14-10.  For Utd. ‘B’ A.Gregory 9, S.Martin 8, M.Putt &  D.Harris 6.  In reply for Legion C.Brind 10, P.Ealey 9 & S.Champ 6.

In a game The Heathens should probably have lost 6-0, they  actually won 4-2,  with leg scores of  12-13, 15-13, 15-14.  For The Heathens D.Butler 11, D.Holmes, B.Townsend & A.Woolloff  8 each and T.Downes 7.  For Spread ‘B’ A.Bell, S.Enock & N.Weston 9 each and I.Brook hit 8.  The Heathens owe a debt of gratitude to L.Clapton who let them off  the hook. Is it a Magners,  Leigh. 

Penlon beat Ab. Con. Club 4-2 with leg scores of 8-10, 13-6, 11-7.  For Penlon T.Lach, throwing like every leg was a beer leg, hit 11 dolls and D.Bellcourt weighed in with 7.  For Con. Club D.Coles top scored with 8.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat Spread Eagle ‘C’ 6-0 with leg scores of 15-11, 20-15, 16-12.  The incomparable Dave Dix hit a brilliant 4-6-6, B.Parker13, D.Davies 10 & B.Duff 7.  In reply for Spread ‘C’ I.Brown included a blob in his 8, P.Soden 7, P.Brown & B.Robbins each hit 6.
