Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Penlon 4-2 with leg scores of 13-10, 18-12, 11-13. For Spread ‘A’ S.Humphries, B.Newman & J.Bowler 9 each, J.Gapper included a blob in his 8 & S.Kinnaird hit 7. For Penlon I.Morrison 10, P.Wright 9, T.Lach 8 & E.Jeffries 7. T.Phipps throwing Willie Doubletug managed just 1 doll.
Spread Eagle ‘B’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 6-0 with leg scores of 13-9, 19-7, 13-12. For Spread ‘B’ A.Bell, R.Nicholls & S.Enock 10 each, L.Clapton 8 including just the 1 to take the 3rd leg and I.Brook 7. In reply For Utd. ‘B’ K.Souch 9 & R.Taylor 7.
An inspired Spread Eagle ‘C’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 6-0 with leg scores of 14-7, 14-9, 13-8. For Spread ‘C’ I.Brown, S.Soden & P.Soden 9 each, P,Brown & B.Robins 7 each. For Utd. ‘C’ M.Fenton & Jon Warrell top scored with 6 dolls each.
The Heathens inflicted only the 2nd defeat in 4 seasons on Ab. Utd. ‘A’. The last game they lost was 18th November 2015 to be precise. The score was 4-2 and the leg scores were 19-15, 15-20, 18-16. Without the handicap it would have been 3-3 with 97 dolls scored. Cracking game. For The Heathens the re- invigorated T.Downes 11, A.Woolloff 10, D.Holmes & P.Longford 9 each & D.Butler 7. For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix hit 5-5-5, B.Parker included a 6 in his 13, the in-filling N.Biggs 10 and the D.Davies 9.
Ab. Legion beat Ab. Con. Club 6-0 with leg scores of 16-3 (yes three), 14-10, 14-8. For The Legion C.Brind included a 6 in his 13, S.Champ 10, N.Hazell 8,D.Sapey 7 & P.Ealey 6. For Con. Club B.Clapton top scored with 9 dolls. M.Neal throwing like Jimmy Jigggleswick managed just 2 dolls. Mick do you still eat your toe nail clippings ?
