Game reports.
Ab. Utd. ‘B’s highest total of the season (39) was enough to ensure a 6-0 win over Ab. Con. Club with leg scores of 14-10, 13-12, 12-9. For Utd. ‘B’ K.Souch 10 (his 1st double figures of season, R.Taylor 9, S.Martin 8 Martin ‘Putt’ Putt 7. For Con. Club B.Clapton & P.Barrett 10 each and for Paul it was his first double of the season. D.Todd managed 6 dolls.
Ab. Legions highest total of the season (49) was more than enough to record their 3rd 6-0 win on the trot. Their opponents were Spread Eagle ‘A’ and the leg scores were 15-13, 18-9, 16-9. For The Legion C.Brind 13, S.Champ 11, P.Ealey 9, N.Hazell & D.Sapey 8 each. For The Spread J.Bowler 8, S.Humphries & J.Gapper 7 each & B.Newman 6.
In a game that saw three 6’s scored Ab. Utd. ‘A’ (still whinging about the handicap) outscored Spread Eagle ‘B’ to record a 4-2 win. The leg scores were 13-11, 17-20, 18-16. For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix 14, B.Parker also hit 14 but included a 6 in his, D.Davies 9 & T.Ward 6. In reply for Spread ‘B’ N.Weston included a 6 in 12, L.Clapton also had a 6 in his 11, B.Stowell, A.Bell & S.Enock 6 each.
Penlon recorded their first win of the season, this was against four man Spread Eagle ‘C’. The score was 4-2 with leg scores of 11-6, 12-11, 10-11. For Penlon I.Morrison 10, P.Wright 9 & T.Lach 7. For Spread ‘C’ B.Robbins, I.Brown & P.Soden 8 each.
The Heathens beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 6-0 with both teams recording their lowest total of the season. The leg scores were 13-8, 15-5, 12-5. For The Heathens D.Butler & B.Townsend 10 each, T.Downes & P.Longford 7 each & A.Woolloff 6. For the below par Utd. ‘C’ (obviously played the wrong songs) M.Fenton just managed to score 1 doll. His throwing was reminiscent of Barry Bairyhalls, yeah, you remember him – face full of blackheads.
