Game reports.
Spread Eagle ‘B’ overcame Ab. Con. Club 4-2 with leg scores of 18-16, 13-14, 12-11. For Spread ‘B’ B.Stowells’ 12 included a 6 to take the first leg, S.Enock 9 & L.Clapton 7. In reply for Con. Club T.Barrett included a 6 in his 12, B.Clapton 7 and P.Barrett 6.
The Heathens used their get out of jail card to beat Penlon thanks to P.Wright ‘blobbing’ when needing 1 to draw the 2nd leg. The leg scores were 15-12, 11-10, 17-8. For The Heathens P.Adams included a 6 in his 12, B.Townsend 11, D.Holmes 9 & P.Longford 8. In reply for Penlon D.Bellcourt 9 and P.Stone included a blob in his 6. Penlons’ 30 dolls was their lowest total of the season T.Lach had the dreaded XXX. Have you tried standing with your back towards the doll and chucking the sticks between your legs – it might be worth a try Tommy.
The Vines’ lowest total of the season (36) was enough to beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ whose 30 dolls was also their lowest total. The score was 4-2 and the leg scores were 11-6, 15-12, 10-12. For The Vine J.Hamilton 7, S.Peedells’ 1st game of the season saw him have a 3rd leg blob in his 7 & M.Dingle also recorded a blob in his 6. For Utd. ‘B’ K.Empson top scored with 6.
A close game saw Spread Eagle ‘A’ edge Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of 15-15, 13-13, 15-14. For The Spread J.Simmons 10, B.Newman & P.Brown 8 each and J.Bowler 6. For Utd. ‘C’ C.Foster, M.Fenton & M.James 7 each, C.Keeley ( who almost took out Dave Harris whilst calling) and Jon Warrell 6 each.
Ab.Legion recorded their 2nd 6-0 win on the trot and their victims were Ab. Utd. ‘A’ losing for the 2nd week running. The leg scores were 17-16, 16-12, 13-12. For The Legion N.Hazell & C.Brind 10 each, S.Champ 7 and P.Ealey 6. In reply for Utd. ‘A’ D.Davies & B.Parker 12 each with Barry needing 6 to draw the 3rd leg almost obliged and hit 5. P.Soden weighed in with 8 dolls.
