Game reports.

Ab. Legion beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 6-0 with leg scores of 14-9, 13-12, 10-7. For The Legion P.Ealey 10, D.Taylor 9, D.Sapey 8 & B.Lacey 7. For Utd. ‘C’ S.Martin top scored with 10 dolls. Utd. ‘C’s 28 dolls was their lowest total so far while The Legions highest total so far of 37 earned them their first points of the season. The Legions R.Taylor and Utd. ‘C’s H.Harris were the lowest scorers of the evening with 3 dolls each. Not going to say anything disrespectful about them as Helen is a nice lass and as for Roy, he was almost a relative of mine. Yes we had to pay a doctor a lot of money to stop that happening.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ drew 3-3 with Spread Eagle with leg scores of 11-11, 14-10, 13-18. For Utd. ‘B’ D.Davies 12 & D.Holmes 9. In reply for the Spread J.Bowler 10, D.Mott 9 & J.Driver 8.

A close game saw Old Masters beat College Oak 5-1 with leg scores of 14-14, 17-15, 15-13. For OM T.Downes 12, A.Woolloff included a 6 in his 12, G.Barguss 10 & J.Lesiakowski 7. In reply for The Oak D.Cross 11, P.Soden, A.Pocock & F.Tracey 8 each & S.Enock 7.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat a spirited Penlon 6-0 with leg scores of 13-12, 13-12, 14-8. For Utd. ‘A’ G.Brown 11, L.Clapton 10 & T.Ward 9. For The Penlon T.Lach 10 & M.Jeffries 7. Penlons 32 dolls was their highest total so far.

The F….F…F…Fox turned up with 4 players and beat Ab. Con. Club 6-0 who themselves played with 3 players plus 1 guest. The leg scores were 10-6, 14-11, 18-9. For The Fox M.Sheridan included a 6 in his 12 dolls, D.Butler, N.Weston & B.Parker 10 each. For Con Club J.Sims 8 & R.North, who despite almost decapitating the caller with 1 stick, managed 7 dolls. May I suggest you merge your teams together next season so that you may actually have a full side each week. You should all know by now that sarcasm is one of my strong points.

Ps I forgot to thank a few people at the start of the season. Thanks to D.Dix for repairing the floor in the store room. Thanks to Brian, Barry and Ron for repairing the Aunt Sally ‘cupboard’, and anyone else I may have forgotten.

College Oak beat Penlon 6-0 with leg scores of 17-11, 13-8, 15-7. For The Oak P.Soden included a 6 in his 10 & F.Tracey also hit 10 dolls. He said it was like shelling pea’s but I think he meant it was like posting letters. A.Pocock 9, S.Enock & D.Cross 8 each. For Penlon V.Smith 8, T.Lach & M.Jeffries 7 each. R.Holmes & J.Carter throwing like traumatised Chilean miners each scored 2 dolls.

ps The sections will be formed after 4 games, which has worked well in the past. I will take into consideration this seasons averages, last seasons league positions and the teams with new players.

pps Very disappointed with the roll sales last week. We had over 50 people here and we struggled to sell 24, that’s with some of us buying 2. Come on lads, you know we need the money.
