2025 Season Now Open!

Fixtures and Pack Distribution

Once again the new season for 2025 is upon us and we are busy distributing the league packs with fixture lists and scorecards.

The packs this year also come with the revised rules (basically reordered/written for clarity) and some guidance notes on game-play especially the ‘beer’ leg so please get yourself briefed on what you should expect!

Teams all online

All the sections are now loaded on the website so it’s time for you to check your names are all spelt correctly. Should you win your section these are the names that will go onto the winning (or runners-up) plaques so please get them corrected! No changes to produced plaques will be accepted at the end of the season.

Go to 2025 Summer League Table  to find where you are in the sections and then click on your team name to get the players detail.

Note where stated captains have a (C) and secretaries have an (S) next to their name. Landlords/ladies are marked with LL.

Email support @ abingdonauntsally.com to get any changes done.

New Teams/Venues/Lost Logins

WELCOME TO OUR NEW VENUES/TEAMS – All the new venues are now also online ready for scorecard entry but if you’re a new team and haven’t got a login account for scorecard entry please email support @ abingdonauntsally.com to register your email address and team name. Ditto if you’ve forgotten your login or password. Please note an email address can only be registered once on the system so you can’t have two accounts with the same address.

Scorecards in the packs are just for reference so you can enter the scores online. All teams are expected to enter their scores themselves – winning team or in the case of a draw the home team (or away by agreement!). BOTH teams should have a copy of the scorecard (take a photo) so they can check the scores are correct. This has to be done before the next game.

Competitions and Start Date

We kick off this year with the 8’s Handicap Knockout preliminary rounds on the 30th April and League Week 1 on 7th May! Don’t forget inbetween these dates on Saturday 3rd May there’s a singles competition in aid of Sobell House. Highest dolls over 5 legs wins and all money raised for a great cause. It’s also a great introduction to competition play ready for the rest of the season.

AND don’t forget the separate free entry prize money pairs competitions for the BC sections and the DEF Sections – enter by 15th June along with the regular 5s, 4s, 3s, 2s, and 1s!

Check out the Events Calendar for all the important dates.

Register for updates

The easiest way to keep in touch is by registering for email updates using the banner at the top of the website. This will automatically tell you of new posts appearing on the website. When we post we also keep our Facebook and X accounts updated too.

Our secretary will also be emailing captains/secretaries directly as necessary through the season with the email addresses you have given on the Registration Form. Hopefully they were legible! I know he’s had some bounces for addresses already so please email support if you need to register for updates and don’t forget your team name because, good as he is, he’s not Mystic Meg!.

That’s all folks and lets hope for another great Aunt Sally season!

You know it’s good when you hear the wood!

Competitions – with prizemoney!

At this year’s AGM, we were thrilled to announce, with the support of our sponsor Thames Cables, a series of new competitions designed to encourage participation from all sections, especially the lower ones. We’ve also moved some competitions to Thursday evenings to better accommodate everyone’s schedules.

You’ve already registered for the Handicap 8’s Knockout, with the first game kicking off on Wednesday, April 30th. League games will begin on May 7th.

But wait, there’s more! Now it’s time to get your entries in for the Singles, Pairs (open to all), 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s competitions by June 15th.

Exciting News! This year, sections B&C and D-F have their own FREE PAIRS COMPETITION with prize money of £50 for the winners and £25 for the runners-up in each group.

This is a fantastic opportunity for sections B&C and D-F to get comfortable with competition play. There’s no better way to improve your skills, enjoy the thrill of competition, and have a shot at prize money and Aunt Sally glory!

So, come on, everyone in the league—get your entries in now! You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Entry forms are available on the home page of the website and must be submitted by June 15th.

I hope this version helps to motivate more players to join in! Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to adjust.
