Game reports.

The Heathens closed the gap on Spread Eagle ‘B’ after beating them 4-2 with leg scores of 17-16, 18-13, 11-16.  For The Heathens A.Woolloff & B.Adams 10 each although Brian did manage to throw a blob in there.  D.Holmes & T.Downes 9 each and D.Butler 8. For Spread ‘B’ B.Stowell 12, R.Nicholls 10 (his first double of the season), N.Weston 9, S.Enock & L.Clapton 7 each.

Penlons’ first 6-0 win of the season came against Ab. Utd. ‘C’ who recorded their lowest total of the season (18).  For Penlon T.Lach 9 , P.Stone & E.Jeffries 7 each.  In reply for Utd. ‘C’ T.Cartlidge & T.Harrhy 7 each.  J.Bussey had the dreaded XXX but he did hit the ceiling twice.  For Gods sake don’t let him play in the pairs with Terry (Phipps).

Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ who equalled their highest total of the season (39).  The score was 4-2 and the leg scores were 8-15, 13-10, 16-14.  For The Spread S.Humphries 11, S.Kinnaird, J.Bowler & B.Newman 7 each.  For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 12, N.Green & D.Taylor 8 each & K.Souch 7.                                                                                                                                                                             

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat Ab. Legion 6-0 who recorded their lowest total of the season (28).  The leg scores were 15-10, 16-10, 21-8.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Davies included a 6 in his 14, B.Parker 12, K.Fisher also had a 6 in his 10, D.Dix 9 & B.Duff 7.  In reply for Legion C.Brind 9 & P.Ealey 7.

Three man Old Masters lowest total of the season (19) was enough to take points off Ab. Con. Club.  The Score was 2-4 with leg scores of 8-11, 6-5, 5-19.  For OM J.Lesiakowski 8 & S.Skelly 7.  For Con. Club T.Barrett 11, P.Barrett 9 and P.Wiblin managed a blob and a 6 in his 8 dolls.  R.North throwing like a partially sighted, part time gynaecologist managed just 1 doll (had a sleepless night thinking that one up).

Game reports.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat Old Masters 6-0 with leg scores of 16-8, 17-11, 14-10.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix 12, B.Parker 11, T.Ward, D.Davies & B.Duff 8 each.  In reply for OM S.Skelly & J.Lesiakowski each scored 7.

The Heathens beat Spread Eagle ‘A’ 6-0 with leg scores of 20-7, 14-8, 11-10.  For The Heathens D.Butler 11, A.Woolloff included a 6 in his 10.  B.Adams also hit 10 & D.Holmes 8.  In reply for The Spread S.Humphries top scored with 8 dolls.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ came from a leg down to beat Penlon 4-2 and the leg scores were 12-15, 19-14, 18-12.  For Spread Eagle ‘B’ L.Clapton included a 6 in his 13, N.Weston 12, B.Stowell 10 & S.Enock 8.  For Penlon T.Lach 11, I.Morrison 10, D.Bellcourt 9 & P.Stone 8.  

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ recorded their biggest win of the season over Ab. Con. Club, the score was 5-1 and the leg scores were 10-8, 14-7, 11-11.  For Utd. ‘B’ D.Taylor top scored with 10 dolls.  The Con. Clubs 26 dolls was their lowest total of the season – enough said.

Ab. Legions’ first 6-0 of the season came against Ab. Utd. ‘C’ with leg scores of 13-6, 13-10, 10-7.  For The Legion S.Champ, N.Hazell & C.Brind 9 each.  In reply for Utd. ‘C’ Jim Warrell top scored with 7 dolls.

Ab.Con. Club beat Spread Eagle ‘A’ 4-2 with leg scores of 11-8, 13-13, 11-11.  For Con. Club B.Clapton top scored ( yes honestly ) with 10 dolls & ‘The Barrett Boys’ 9 each.  In reply for The Spread S.Kinnaird, J.Bowler & B.Newman 7 dolls each.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of 12-11, 13-11, 10-14.  For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 10, K.Souch 9 & D.Taylor 7.  For Utd ‘C’ D.Warrell 11 ( his first double figures of the season ), Matt ‘Foot Fault’ Ashmall & Mick ‘I do the same’ James each scored 7.  

Ab. Legion recorded their highest total of the season (44) to beat Penlon 5-1. The leg scores were 13-10, 14-14, 17-15.  For The Legion C.Brind included a 6 in his 13, S.Champ & B.Lacey 9 and D.Sapey 7.  In reply for Penlon T.Lach included a 6 in his cracking 15 dolls, D.Bellcourt 10 & I.Morrison 8.  T.Phipps had the dreaded XXX but he did hit the ceiling 3 times.  He even hit the ceiling with a coin when tossing up for the first leg. lol

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat Spread Eagle ‘B’ 4-2 to extend their lead at the top.  The leg scores were 16-15, 15-16, 18-13.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix included a 6 in his 14, B.Parker 11, D.Davies 10, K.Fisher & P.Wright 7 each.  For Spread ‘B’ B.Stowell & N.Weston 11 each, L.Clapton 9 and S.Enock 7.

The Heathens and Old Masters were unable to play their game as OM were unable to field a side.  Let you know at a later date if we can rearrange it.

Important Announcement: Summer League

Following the recent Pre- AGM, two long standing members have resigned after many, many years of service. This means that Abingdon Aunt Sally will be unable to function without new members.

Specifically:
· Secretary
· Treasurer
· Competition Recorder
· Dolly Recorder

If these roles are not filled at the AGM on the 25th January the League will fold.
The solution is in your hands, don’t assume someone else will step forward.
Should you wish to join the committee please email the chairman@abingdonauntsally.com or volunteer on the night. Full training and help will be available experience is not necessary.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 6-0 with leg scores of 16-7, 14-9, 22-11.  For Spread ‘B’ S.Enock included a 6 in his 13, B.Stowell also recorded a 6 in his 12, N.Weston also hit 12 and L.Clapton 11.  In reply for Utd. ‘C’ M.Ashmall & M.James 7 each.

Penlon beat 4 man Old Masters 5-1 with leg scores of  8-8, 13-6, 13-8.  For Penlon D.Bellcourt 10, T.Lach 8 & I.Morrison 7.  In reply for OM S.Skelly top scored with 8 dolls. Little did he know what was coming next.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat Spread Eagle ‘A’ 6-0 in an interrupted match.  The leg scores were 15-9,19-7, 21-5.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Davies 14, D.Dix 13, B.Duff & B.Parker 10 each and T.Ward 8.  For a shocked Spread ‘A’ B.Newman top scored with 6 and their 22 dolls was their lowest of the season.  The match saw S.Skelley (sticking up) just escape serious injury and N.Nuttall throw his last ever sticks in the winter league.

The Heathens came from behind to beat Ab. Con. Club 4-2 with leg scores of  12-13, 15-11, 15-12.  For The Heathens T.Bell 10, A.Woolloff  9, D.Holmes & J.Ellaway 8 each and D.Butler 7.  For Con Club T.Barrett 9, B.Clapton 8, R.North & P.Barrett 7 each.  Their 36 dolls was their highest total so far.

Ab. Legion beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of  12-7, 7-15, 18-14.  For The Legion S.Champ 10, N.Hazell & D.Sapey 8 each and B.Lacey 7.  For Utd. ‘B’ K.Souch 10, S.Martin & D.Taylor 7 each. D.Harris was again in 7th heaven scoring 7 for the 6th time on the trot.  (I’m sure he’s doing it on purpose).

The Heathens’ lowest total of the season (35) was just enough to see off Ab. Utd. ‘B’.  The score was 4-2 with leg scores of 14-12, 9-11, 12-9.  For The Heathens D.Butler 9, D.Holmes 8 and B.Adams included a blob in his 7.  For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 10, K.Souch, R.Taylor & D.Harris all scored 7, Daves’ 5th on the trot.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ overwhelmed Ab. Con. Club 6-0 with leg scores of  21-7, 16-11, 22-15.  For Utd. ‘A’ Dave ‘The Six’ Dix hit 2 sixes in his 16 dolls and B.Parker also included a 6 in his 15, P.Wright & D.Davies 10 each.  B.Duff was s***, he only got 8.  For Con. Club T.Barrett 10, B.Clapton & P.Barrett 8 each.  M.Haynes playing his 1st game of the season managed a ‘Nelson’, that’s 1-1-1.  

A very close game saw Ab. Utd. ‘C’ win their 1st game of the season. Well done boys.  They beat Old Masters 4-2 with leg scores of  9-6, 6-9, 12-11. For Utd. ‘C’ T.Harrhy 8 and Jon Warrell 7.  For OM A.Pocock & M.Neal 7 each.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ beat Ab. Legion 6-0 with leg scores of 13-12, 12-9, 16-11.  For Spread ‘B’ B.Stowell included a 6 in his 11, N.Weston also hit 11, S.Enock & L.Clapton hit 7 each.  In reply for The Legion C.Brind 9, ‘The Scarlet Pimpernell’ a.k.a. Dave Sapey managed 8 and B.Lacey hit 7.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat The Penlon 5-1 with leg scores of 11-11, 14-12, 12-9.   For Spread ‘A’ S.Humphries 10, N.Nuttall & J.Bowler 9 each.  In reply for Penlon T.Lach & E.Jeffries 8 each And I.Morrison 7.

Penlon easily recorded their highest total of the season (45) to beat Ab. Con. Club 4-2.  The leg scores were 16-10, 15-9, 14-15.  For Penlon D.Bellcourt 11 (his first double figures of the season) , T.Lach 10, E.Jeffries 9, I.Morrison 8 & P.Stone 7.  For Con Club P.Barrett 9, T.Barrett & P.Wiblin 8 each.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 5-1 with leg scores of  11-10, 15-10, 15-15.  For Spread ‘B’ B.Stowell hit a cracking 15 dolls, L.Clapton 8 ( failing to hit double figures for the first time) & S.Enock 7.  In reply for Utd.’B’ S.Martin 11, R.Taylor 8 & D.Harris 7 ( his 4th score of  7 on the trot ).

The Heathens hit their highest total of  the season ( 49 ) to inflict a first defeat of  the season on Ab. Utd. ‘A’.  The score was 4-2 and the leg scores were 16-14, 20-15, 13-14.  For The Heathens D.Holmes included a 6 in his 13 dolls & A.Woolloff  also hit 13, T.Bell 10 & J.Ellaway 7.  Apologies for my foul language after failing to convert two 5’s into 6’s but it’s not f****** easy living with Tourettes.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Davies & B.Parker 12 each & P.Wright 9.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ who ‘couldn’t record a point’ or C.R.A.P. for short.  The leg scores were 10-7, 13-7, 9-5.  For Spread ‘A’ J.Bowler 10 & N.Nuttall 7.  In reply for Utd ‘C’ T.Cartlidge top scored with 6 and their 19 dolls was their lowest so far.  With Penlon winning it leaves Utd. ‘C the only team  without a win.

Old Masters drew 3-3 with Ab.Legion with leg scores of  12-9, 10-13, 13-13.  For OM A.Pocock & M.Neal 10 each.  In reply for The Legion C.Brind 10, P.Ealey & N.Hazell 7 each.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ recorded their highest total of  the season (53) in beating Old Masters 6-0 who in return recorded their lowest total so far (22).  The leg scores were 17-7, 16-6, 20-9.  For Spread ‘B’ N.Weston included a 6 in his 14, B.Stowell also had a 6 in his 13, L.Clapton hit 12 and is now the only player to hit double figures in the first 5 games.  S.Enock weighed in with 10.  In reply for OM M.Beachey top scored with 7 dolls.

Ab. Legion beat Spread Eagle ‘A’ 4-2 with leg scores of 13-10, 10-13, 13-9.  For The Legion C.Brind 10, S.Champ, P.Ealey & N.Hazell 7 each.  For Spread ‘A’ N.Nuttall & J.Bowler 9 each.

A close game saw 4 man Con. Club draw 3-3 with Ab. Utd. ‘C’.  The Con. Clubs 28 dolls was their lowest total so far.  The leg scores were 10-9, 9-9, 9-11.  For Con. Club T.Barrett 8, P.Wiblin & B.Clapton 7 each.  For Utd. ‘C’ M.James 8 & P.Ashmall 7.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’s lowest total of the season (40) was enough to earn them their 4th 6-0 in 5 games.  Their victims were Ab. Utd. ‘B’ and their 28 dolls was their lowest total.  The leg scores were 17-11, 10-8, 13-9.  For Utd. ‘A’ B.Parker 13, D.Davies 11, B.Duff included a 6 in his 10.  In reply for Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 10, K.Souch & R.Taylor 7 each.  N.Green managed just 1 doll – keep at it girl.

Penlon embarrassed The Heathens by holding them to a 3-3 draw and The Heathens 36 dolls was their lowest total so far.  The leg scores were 15-15, 11-9, 6-12.  For Penlon T.Lach 9 & D.Bellcourt 7.  For The Heathens D.Holmes 10, T.Bell 9, J.Ellaway 8 & D.Butler 7.  I’m saying nothing more Brian !
