Michael ‘Micky’ Phillips aka ‘Fodder’ passed away last week.
Micky played for Cumnor Cricket Club then Spread Eagle and from 2006 (when our online records began) averaged in most seasons over 3 a leg; his highest 3.45 in 2009. These teams were regularly winners or runners-up in league and competitions.
In the 13 years 2006-2018 he missed only 7 matches out of 234 and scored 15 sixes.
He won the Captain’s Cup in 2016 beating Dave Dix in the final.
Runner-Up in the Singles in 1992, 2011 & 2012 beaten only by great players like Graham Barguss & Martin Sheridan. You can watch his 2012 final on AuntSallyTV. (To see all the recordings of Micky including pairs matches click here)
Previous to this he did a 6-5-4 in this newspaper clipping which predates our online scoring and unfortunately doesn’t have a date.
