Game reports – Hhmmm, who can I take the p**s out of this week.
Spread Eagle ‘B’ and Penlon kicked off the new year with Spread ‘B’ running out 4-2 winners. The leg scores were 16-17, 17-14, 17-15. For Spread ‘B’ L.Clapton 14, S.Enock, I.Brook & B.Stowell 8 each and A.Bell 6. For Penlon D.Bellcourt 12 (his first double of the season), T.Lach 9 and I.Morrison 7. P.Stone recorded the first blob of 2019 (didn’t think it would take him long, lol).
The Heathens overcame Ab. Legion 4-2 with leg scores of 19-11, 15-13, 11-20. For The Heathens P.Adams ‘broke in’ his new sticks (obviously a Christmas present) with a 1st leg 6 (the 1st of 2019) in his 14, D.Butler & T.Downes 9 each, D.Holmes 7 and P.Longford 6. In reply for The Legion C.Brind 9, S.Champ, P.Ealey and D.Sapey 7 each.
Ab. Con. Club beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of 17-9, 16-16, 12-12. For Con. Club T.Barrett included a 6 in his 11, P.Barrett 10, D.Todd & B.Clapton 7 each. J.Miles recorded 1 doll in the 3rd leg to avoid the dreaded XXX. I think there is a crib league on a Wednesday John if you’re interested – just a thought, lol For Utd. ‘C’ R.Pepperell, playing his first game of the season, hit 11 and Jon Warrell 6.
Ab. Utd. ‘A’ returned to the top of the table after recording a 5-1 win over their ‘B’ counterparts. The leg scores were 13-13 (with Barry hitting a 4 for a point), 14-11, 17-15. For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix 12, B.Parker 11, P.Soden 9, D.Davies and T.Ward 6 each. For Utd. ‘B’ M.Putt hit his first double figures of the season (10), and S.Martin 8.
Spread Eagle ‘A’ drew 3-3 with The Vine with leg scores of 10-10, 12-16, 12-11. For The Spread J.Gapper & J.Bowler each hit 8 and S.Kinnaird 6. For The Vine J.Hamilton top scored with 8 and everyone else hit 5. Enough said about that game.

p.s. Halfway through the season and I beg the questions. In a tight ‘A’ section who will come out on top ?? In the ‘B’ section will The Vine be able to ‘creep up’ on Penlon ?? Will Ab. Utd. ‘C’ be able to win a game ?? Does anyone actually give a s**t ??
