Game reports.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Ab.Con. Club 6-0 to end C.C. chances of finishing ‘B’ Section winners.  The leg scores were 15-11, 13-12, 18-13.  For The Spread S.Humphries 12, J.Gapper needing 5 to win the 2^nd leg duly obliged and finished with 11, D.Mott 10 & J.Bowler 8.  In reply for C.C. B.Clapton top scored with 11 ( he’s been scoring better since starting to wear his glasses – which I don’t understand as he has no lenses in them), P.Barrett 9 & D.Todd 6.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ failed to win for only the 2^nd time this season after drawing 3-3 (obviously) with Ab. Legion.  The leg scores were 14-12, 17-17, 15-16.  For Ab. Utd. ‘A’  ‘Dead Eyed’ Dix in included a 6 in his 15 (and missed with his last stick for another in the 3^rd leg), not to be out done (to much) B.Parker also hit a 6 in his 12, D.Davies 10 & B.Duff 7.  For The Legion S.Champ 13, P.Ealey & C.Brind 10 each and D.Sapey 9, who when needing 5 to win the 2^nd leg just missed with his last stick to do so. 

The Heathens beat Penlon 5-1 but they had already secured winning the ‘B’ section.  The leg scores were 19-7, 11-4  (yes four), 13-13.  For The Heathens D.Holmes included a 6 in his 15, T.Downes 9, D.Butler & P.Longford 8 each.  In reply for Penlon I.Morrison 9 (including a 4 to secure a point in the 3^rd leg) & T.Lach 8.  P.Stone put his 2 blobs down to fact that he didn’t need them as they had already secured the section – yea right.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ secured runners up spot after a 6-0  win over Ab. Utd. ‘C’ with leg scores of 10-5, 16-7, 17-10.  For Spread ‘B’ I.Brook (in only his 3^rd game of the season) 10, A.Bell 9, S.Enock, N.Weston & L.Clapton 8 each although Steve did have a 1^st leg blob.  For ‘The Scarecrow Boys’ Jon Warrell top scored with 9 dolls.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat Brown Owls 6-0 with leg scores of 10-8, 12-4, 11-8.  For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 10, R.Taylor 8, D.Harris 7 & K.Souch 6.  For The Owls C.Chung & I.Brown 6 each.  Despite having only 4 players they did not record their lowest total.  One thing I forgot to mention about The Owls was the fact they entered more people into the competitions than any other team.  Credit to you and hope you enjoyed the season.

Ab.Utd. ‘A’ clanged off 56 dolls in their 6-0 win over Spread Eagle’A’.  The leg scores were 20-9, 17-12, 19-13.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix 15, B.Parker recorded his 1^st 6 of the season in his 12, D.Davies & B.Duff 10 each & K.Fisher 9.  For The Spread  D.Mott 11 & S.Humphries 9.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of 10-12, 14-8, 13-9.  For Utd. ‘B’ K.Souch 11, S.Martin 8, N.Green 7 & D.Harris 6.  In reply for Utd. ‘C’  Jon Warrell 9 & T.Cartlidge 6.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ beat The Heathens 4-2 with leg scores of 12-16, 15-11, 20-16.  The Heathens needing to win 4-2 to put 3 teams on 66 points won the 1^st leg then proceeded to lose.  For Spread ‘B’ B.Stowell & L.Clapton 11 each, S.Enock & N.Weston 9 each & A.Bell 7.  For The Heathens P.Longford 11, D.Butler & D.Holmes 9 each, B.Adams & A.Woolloff 7 each.

Ab. Con. Club recorded their 2^nd 6-0 win on the trot.  It came against Penlon and put a dent their bid for the ‘B’ section title.  The leg scores were 12-10, 14-12, 8-6. Nothing ‘odd’ about those scores then.  For Con. Club P.Wiblin 9 (usually takes him 3 games to score that many), D.Todd & B.Clapton 7 each & P.Barrett 6.  For Penlon T.Lach 9 & E.Jeffries 6.

Game reports.

A (s)crappy game saw The Heathens beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 12-11, 9-12, 12-10.  For The Heathens D.Butler & T.Downes 8 each & A.Woolloff 7.  In.reply for Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 9, R.Taylor 8, K.Souch 7 & D.Harris 6.  The early start suited The Heathens as they were able to get back to their care home early.

Ab. Con. Club beat Brown Owls 6-0 with leg scores of 10-6, 9-6, 7-6.  A ‘devilish’ score from The Owls.  For Con. Club P.Barrett 9 & B.Clapton 7.  For The Owls nobody scored very many and everybody scored very few.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 6-0 with leg scores of 17-10, 15-10, 13-6.  For Utd. ‘A’ B.Duff 14, D.Davies 10, B.Parker 9 & K.Fisher 8.  For Utd. ‘C’ T.Harrhy 7 & Jon Warrell 6.  Who needs Dave Dix anyway.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ beat Ab. Legion 5-1 with leg scores of 14-14, 17-11, 16-14.  For Spread ‘B’ S.Enock, N.Weston & L.Clapton 11 each & A.Bell 9.  In reply for The Legion C.Brind 10, S.Champ & N.Hazell 9 each & P.Ealey 8.

Penlon beat 4 man Spread Eagle ‘A’ 4-2 to make the scramble for runners up spot in the ‘A’ section more interesting.  The leg scores were 9-10,17-14, 14-12.  For Penlon T.Lach & P.Wright 10 each, I.Morrison 8 & P.Stone 7.  For Spread ‘A’ ‘Thunderclap’ Newman top scored again with 12 dolls, J.Gapper also recorded his highest total of the season (11) & J.Bowler hit 8.

p.s. With 2 games to go I beg the questions.  Who will win the race for runners up spot in ‘A’ section ?  Can Penlon hang on to win the ‘B’ section ?  Will Ab. Utd. ‘A’ lose a game ?  Will Brown Owls actually win a game ?  Does anyone actually give a s***.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ recorded their highest total  of the season (47) in beating Brown Owls 6-0 with leg scores of 12-11, 20-7, 15-10.  For The Spread Bert ‘Thunderclap’ Newman hit 11 dolls (his highest total of the season, if not ever), S.Humphries included a 6 in his10, D.Mott also hit 10, J.Gapper 9 & J.Bowler 7.  In reply for the Owls P.Brown & B.Robbins each scored 7.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ beat Ab. Con. Club 5-1 with leg scores of 12-9, 13-8, 15-15.  For Spread ‘B’ L.Clapton hit 14 dolls, including a 3^rd leg 5 to draw the leg.  S.Enock 9, R.Nicholls 7 & A.Bell 6.  For Con.Club B.Clapton 8, D.Todd & P.Barrett 7 each & M.Neal 6.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat 4 man Penlon 5-1 with leg scores of 10-10, 18-8, 16-6.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Davies & B.Parker 11 each, K.Fisher & T.Ward 8 each & B.Duff 6.  Penlon chasing 10 in the 1^st leg started well with Ian hitting a 5 but T.Phipps needing 1 to draw the leg left to the very last stick.  I.Morrison ended up with 9 & E.Jeffries hit 8.

The Heathens beat an Oxford United inspired Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of  10-8, 17-13, 13-14.  For The Heathens D.Butler 13, D.Holmes 9 & P.Longford 8.  For Utd. ‘C’ M.Ashmall & M.Fenton both recorded their highest total of the season (9) & Jon Warrell hit 7.

Ab. Legion beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 8-12, 9-7, 17-7.  For The Legion S.Champ 9, P.Ealey & D.Sapey 7 each & N.Hazell 6.  For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin & K.Souch 8 each & D.Harris 7.  N.Green managed 1 in the 3^rd leg to avoid the dreaded XXX. Bless her !

Ab. Con. Club beat Ab, Utd. ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 12-7, 8-12, 10-6.  For Con. Club P.Barrett 9 & B.Clapton 8.  In reply for Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin & R.Taylor each hit 6 dolls.

The Heathens beat Ab. Legion 4-2 with leg scores of 19-12, 15-12, 13-16.  For The Heathens D.Butler 11, D.Holmes & B.Adams 10 each, A.Woolloff 9 & P.Longford 7.  For The Legion C.Brind 11, S.Champ 10, N.Hazell 8 & D.Sapey 6.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ managed to drop 2 points against Brown Owls (honestly) and the Owls 1^st leg win was well received by ‘Mr. Browns Boys’.  The leg scores were 8-9 (can you believe that), 19-6, 22-9.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix included a 6 in his 14, B.Parker 10, T.Ward 9, D.Davies & K.Fisher 8 each.  In reply for The Owls P.Brown 9 & B.Robbins 7.

Spread Eagle ‘B’s highest total of the season (50) was enough to see off Spread ‘A’ 4-2 with leg scores of 13-19, 20-14, 17-5 (yes 5).  For Spread ‘B’ A.Bell included a 6 in his 11, S.Enock & L.Clapton also each scored 11, B.Stowell 9 & N.Weston 8.  For Spread ‘A’ S.Humphries 11, J.Gapper 8, J.Bowler 7, S.Kinnaird & B.Newman 6 each.

Penlon beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of 11-8, 8-10, 13-10.  For Penlon P.Wright 10, T.Lach 9 & I.Morrison hit 7.  Not so ‘Steady’ Eddie Jeffries managed 1 doll in the 3^rd leg to avoid the dreaded XXX.  In reply for Utd. ‘C’ M.Ashmall & M.James 7 each & M.Fenton 6.
