Spread Eagle ‘A’ drew 3-3 with Ab. Utd. ‘B’ with leg scores of 13-13, 14-19, 17-13. For The Spread B.Newman 12 (his first double of the season), J.Simmons 11 and S.Humphries hit 8. Ab. Utd. ‘B’ recorded their highest total of the season (45) with S.Martin hitting his first double figures of the season (11), A.Gregory in his first game (nice to see you Alan) hit 7 along with M.Putt.
The top 2 teams in ‘B’ section met with The Vine beating Penlon 6-0 to go just 1 point behind. The Vine equalled their highest total (50) in what was their first 6-0 win. The leg scores were 17-13, 18-13, 15-14. For The Vine S.Peedell 12 (his first double), J.Pownceby 10, M.Dingle and D.Hamilton 7 each. In reply for Penlon P.Wright 8, T.Lach, D.Bellcourt and I.Morrison 6 each.
Ab. Utd. ‘A’ after a first leg let off ran out 6-0 winners over Ab. Con. Club with leg scores of 15-14, 18-16, 14-13. For Utd. ‘A’ Dave ‘Dead Eyed’ Dix hit a cracking 6-5-5, B.Parker 10, T.Ward 9 & D.Davies 7. For Con. Club T.Barrett 11, M.Neal & P.Barrett 7 each.
Ab. Legion beat Spread Eagle ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 12-18, 19-17, 16-11. For The Legion P.Ealey & C.Brind 11 each and S.Champ 9. For Spread ‘B’ L.Clapton included a 6 in his 14, A.Bell 8, S.Enock 7 and B.Stowell 6.
The Heathens beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 6-0 with leg scores of 16-14, 15-14, 17-8. For The Heathens P.Adams included a 6 in his 13, B.Townsend 11, A.Woolloff 9, P.Longford 8 and T.Downes 7. For Utd. ‘C’ Jono Warrell hit 8 with him being unlucky not to secure a point for Utd. ‘C’ in the 2nd leg. M.Ashmall weighed in with 7.
