Spread Eagle ‘B’ recorded their first 5-1 win of the season when beating Ab. Con. Club. The leg scores were 14-13, 17-17, 17-10. For Spread ‘B’ L.Clapton 10, I.Brook 9, A.Bell & R.Nicholls 8 each and N.Weston 7. For Con Club B.Clapton 10, P.Barrett had a blob in his 7 and T.Barrett also blobbed but managed 6.
Penlons highest total of the season (53) inflicted a second defeat on the trot for The Heathens. The score was 4-2 and the leg scores were 14-18, 21-16, 18-15. For Penlon P.Wright included a 6 in his 15, I.Morrison 9, P.Stone & D.Bellcourt 7 each and T.Lach 6. In reply for The Heathens P.Adams 15, B.Townsend 11, A.Woolloff 10 & P.Longford 9.
A close game saw The Vine beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 14-13, 12-14, 15-13. For The Vine M.Dingle, D.Hamilton & J.Hamilton 7 each and S.Peedell 6. For Utd. ‘B’ D.Harris 11 (his first double figures of the season) and M.Putt hit 6.
Ab. Legion closed the gap on Utd. ‘A’ and The Heathens after beating Utd. ‘A’ 4-2 with Utd. recording their lowest total of the season (39). The leg scores were 21-13, 21-12, 11-14. For The Legion D.Sapey hit 12 (his first double), C.Brind included a 3rd leg blob in his 9 and S.Champ 8. For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix, 11, D.Davies 9, K.Fisher & T.Ward 7 each.
Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of 10-9, 12-13, 17-12. For The Spread I.Brown 8, S.Humphries 7, J.Simmons, J.Gapper & J.Bowler all scored 6 dolls. For Utd. ‘C’ C.Keeley & Jono Warrell 8 each with Jono hitting a 4 to take the 2nd leg. Claire waited till her 18th stick before hitting the doll thus avoiding the dreaded XXX for the 2nd week running.
