Game reports.

Croft Nomads highest total of the season (57) inflicted a first 6-0 defeat on Ab. Utd. ‘B’ with leg scores of 18-14, 20-13, 19-13.  For The Croft N.Weston hit a cracking 4-6-6 , R.Nichols hit his first double figures of the season (10) & I.Brook also hit 10, L.Clapton 8 and S.Enock 7.  For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin recorded his 4^th 8 doll tally on the trot, J.Ellaway & R.Taylor 6 each.

A close game saw Spread Eagle beat Penlon 4-2 with leg scores of 12-14, 18-17, 16-15.  For The Spread J.Bowler 9, B.Newman & P.Soden 8 each and Si Kinnaird 6.  In reply for Penlon D.Bellcourt hit 12 (his highest), P.Wright 8 & I.Morrison 6. 

Ab. Legion gifted The Heathens the first leg then came storming back to win 4-2 with leg scores of 10-12, 20-10, 19-12 and The Heathens 34 dolls was easily their lowest total so far.  For The Legion N.Baldwin & C.Brind 10 each, S.Champ & S.Wilson 8 each.  For The Heathens B.Townsend & A.Woolloff 9 each and D.Butler 7.  Enough said.

The Vine drew 3-3 with Ab. Utd. ‘C’ with leg scores of 13-12, 13-13, 13-16.  For The Vine D.Hamilton 7, S.Peedell & J.Hamilton 6 each and obviously 13 proved to be unlucky for The Vine.  In reply for Utd. ‘C’ M.Ashmall and Jono Warrell each hit 7 dolls.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ inflicted a first 6-0 defeat of the season on Ab. Con. Club who equalled their lowest total of the season (37).  This result means Utd. ‘A’ top the ‘A’ section for the first time since week 4.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix and B.Parker both included a 6 in their 14 dolls each, D.Davies 10, K.Fisher 8 and S.Humphries included a 3^rd leg blob in his 6.  For Con. Club P.Barrett 9 and B.Clapton 7.

Game reports.

Ab.Utd. ‘C’s highest total of the season (44) earned them their first win which was a 5-1 demolition of Ab. Con. Club with leg scores of 15-10, 16-15, 13-13.  For Utd. ‘C’ M.James 9, C.Keely 8 & M.Ashmall 6.  In reply for CC B.Clapton 9, T.Barrett 7 & P.Barrett 6.  D.Todd managed the dreaded X X X.  Cows a**e and banjo springs to mind.  As I was not there to witness this game can someone confirm that the  card was filled in correctly lol.

Croft Nomads beat leaders Ab. Legion 4-2 to give the ‘A’ section a very interesting look.  The leg scores were 20-17, 18-18, 16-16.  For The Croft A.Bell 12 (his highest), L.Clapton 11, I.Brook 10 (his first double figures), B.Stowell 8 and S.Enock 7.  In reply for The Legion P.Ealey 12 (his highest), S.Champ 9, C.Brind and S.Wilson 8 each.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat Spread Eagle 4-2 with leg scores of 19-12, 10-14, 18-15.  For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin, J.Lesiakowski and D.Harris 8 and K.Empson 7.  For The Spread J.Bowler and P.Soden 7 each.

The Heathens came from behind to beat Ab. Utd. ‘A’ 4-2 with leg scores of 12-15, 17-12, 17-12.  For The Heathens B.Townsend 12, P.Adams 11, P.Longford 10, D.Holmes 7 and D.Butler 6.  In reply for Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix 11, B.Parker 9, D.Davies 8 and B.Duff 6.

Penlon equalled their highest total (50) to beat The Vine 6-0.  The leg scores were 15-14, 18-12, 17-13.  For Penlon D.Bellcourt 10, G.Lee & I.Morrison 9 each.  For The Vine D.Hamilton & J.Pownceby 7 each.

The funeral of Frank Tracey will take place on Friday (17^th) at 2 p.m. at St. Edmonds Chucrh, which is at the junction of Oxford Road and Radley Road.  I hope to be there and if anyone else could make it that would be nice.  Parking spaces are limited so alternative parking is advised, perhaps on Audlett Drive

Game reports.

Croft Nomads recorded a 2^nd 6-0 win on the trot which came against The Heathens who suffered their 3^rd 6-0 defeat and equalled their lowest total of 40.  The leg scores were 13-12, 19-16, 14-12.  For The Croft B.Stowell recorded his first double figures (12) which included a 6, L.Clapton 11, A.Bell & N.Weston 6 each.  For The Heathens P.Adams 13, P.Longford 11 & B.Townsend 8.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ hit their lowest total of the season (37) and struggled to a 3-3 draw with Ab. Utd. ‘C’ who avoided defeat for the first time.  The leg scores were 11-12, 11-9, 15-15.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix 13, B.Parker hit 9 and managed only 1 in the first leg when needing 2 to draw but came good in the 3^rd leg when hitting 5 to draw the leg and the match.  S.Humphries managed 6.  In reply for ‘The Scarecrow Boys’ M.Ashmall 10 (his first double this season – if not ever) & C.Keeley hit 9.  A.Webb  had the dreaded XXX and although he had the cleanest doll of the night he had managed to hit the ceiling first.

Ab. Con. Club hit their highest total of 52 in beating Penlon 5-1 with leg scores of 17-15, 13-13, 22-14.  For Con. Club Brian ‘Cracker’ Clapton 11 (yea I couldn’t believe it either), P.Barrett 10, D.Todd & T.Barrett 8 each.  For Penlon P.Wright & I.Morrison 7 each, G.Lee & D.Bellcourt 6 each.

The Vine drew 3-3 with Ab. Utd. ‘B’ with leg scores of 13-17, 16-16, 17-16.  For The Vine D.Hamilton 10, S.Peedell 9 & M.Dingle 8.  In reply for Utd. ‘B’ J.Ellaway 10, S.Martin 9, R.Taylor 7 & K.Empson 6.

Ab. Legion extended their lead at the top after a 4-2 win over Spread Eagle with leg scores of 17-10, 15-14, 10-17.  For The Legion S.Champ 9, P.Ealey included a blob in his 7, C.Brind & S.Wilson 6 each but Stuart managed to blob.  For The Spread P.Soden 11 and D.Mott hit 7.

Game reports.

Penlon beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 14-12, 10-20, 18-12.  For Penlon G.Lee & D.Bellcourt 8 each, ‘Steady’ Eddie Jeffries & I.Morrison 6 each, though Ian did have a blob in his.  For Utd. ‘B’ D.Harris 9, S.Martin 8, K.Empson and M.Putt (making his first appearance) 7 each.  J.Ellaway managed just 1 doll – sorry John but that’s what you get for drinking your own bathwater lol.

Ab. Con. Club recorded their highest total of the season (53) to inflict a first 6-0 defeat on Spread Eagle.  The leg scores were 16-15, 19-14, 18-16.  For Con. Club ‘The Barrett Boys’ and B.Clapton (again) scored 11 dolls each. For The Spread P.Soden 11 and J.Bowler 10.

Ab. Legion beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with Utd. ‘C’ recording their highest total so far (40).  The leg scores were 13-9, 17-16, 13-15.  For The Legion P.Ealey & N.Baldwin 8 each, D.Sapey 7 and S.Wilson 6.  In reply for Utd. ‘C’ Jon Warrell 8 (his highest this season), M.James 7 and M.Ashmall 6.

Utd. ‘A’ 4-2 with leg scores of 16-13, 20-17, 14-16.  For The Croft N.Weston 13, L.Clapton 12 (his highest), B.Stowell 10 & A.Bell 6.  For Utd. ‘A’B.Parker 12, B.Duff  11 (his first double figures), D.Dix failed to hit double figures for the first time and hit 8 along with K.Fisher and T.Ward hit 7.  The Croft gained just 4 points from their first 4 games, then amassed 20 points in their subsequent 4 games – what a difference N.Weston makes.  Nige, isn’t it about time you had another cruise.

The Heathens used their ‘get out of jail’ card to beat The Vine, whose 42 dolls was their lowest total so far.  The score was 4-2 with leg scores of 11-9, 18-20, 18-13.  For The Heathens P.Adams included a 6 in his 14, B.Townsend 11, T.Downes 9 and D.Holmes 8.  In reply for The Vine M.Dingle 9 (his highest), J.Hamilton 8 and D.Hamilton 6.

Spread Eagle ‘clawed’ their way to a 4-2 win over Ab. Utd. ‘A’ with leg scores of 18-13, 15-11, 18-21.  For The Spread P.Soden 10, B.Newman 9, M.Beachey and D.Mott 7 each and J.Bowler 6.  In reply for Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix included a 6 in his 14, T.Ward also hit a 6 in his 11, S.Humphries and B.Parker 8 each.

Ab. Legion inflicted a first 6-0 loss on Penlon with leg scores of 16-15, 12-11, 18-10.  For The Legion S.Champ included a 6 in his 15, S.Wilson 7 and C.Brind 6.  For Penlon D.Bellcourt and E.Jeffries 6 each.

Croft Nomads recorded their highest total (55) and their first 6-0 win of the season against Ab. Utd. ‘C’.  The leg scores were 16-10, 21-12, 18-12.  For The Croft N.Weston 13, S.Enock 12, L.Clapton 11 (his first double figures), R.Nichols 7 and B.Stowell 6.  In reply C.Keeley top scored with 7.

The Vine beat Ab. Con. Club 4-2 (despite CC hitting their highest total of 48)  with leg scores of  15-14, 15-19, 17-15.  For The Vine J.Pownceby 11, S.Peedell 7, M.Dingle & D.Hamilton 6 each.  For Con. Club D.Todd, B.Clapton and P.Barrett all hit 9 dolls.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat The Heathens 4-2 with leg scores of  17-14, 18-15, 9-17.  For Utd. ‘B’ J.Ellaway top scored with 9 (b*****d), S.Martin 7 and Dave ‘No Blobs’ Harris hit 6.  For The Heathens P.Adams hit 5-5-5, B.Townsend 11, D.Holmes 10 and A.Woolloff included a blob in his 6 (t****r).

Game reports.

Ab. Con. Clubs’ highest total so far (45) was enough to beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2.  The leg scores were 11-12, 18-10, 16-13.  For Con. Club ‘The Barretts’ each scored 10 & B.Clapton hit 7.  In reply for Utd. ‘B’ K.Empson & J.Ellaway 7 each and S.Martin 6. Dave ‘Blobber’ Harris managed 1 in the 3^rd leg to avoid the dreaded XXX.

Ab. Legion went top of the table after recording their highest total so far (59) and their first 6-0 win.  Their victims were The Vine who suffered their first 6-0 loss.  The leg scores were 20-14, 20-18, 19-15.  For The Legion C.Brind 12, S.Champ and a rejuvenated D.Sapey 11 each, P.Ealey and S.Wilson 8 each but Paul did include a blob in his.  For The Vine D.Hamilton 9, S.Peedell and J.Pownceby 8 each.

Four man Penlon managed a creditable 3-3 draw with Ab. Utd. ‘A’ with leg scores of  11-19, 15-10, 15-15.  For Penlon G.Lee included a 6 in his 13 and D.Bellcourt hit 7.  I.Morrison needing 2 to draw the 3^rd leg and the match played to the crowd and left it to his last 2 sticks to do so.  For Utd. ‘A’ B.Parker included a 6 in his 14, D.Dix 11, K.Fisher 8 and D.Davies 7.

The Heathens inflicted a 6-0 defeat on Ab. Utd. ‘C’ who recorded their lowest total so far (26).  The leg scores were 14-11, 17-9, 13-6.  For The Heathens P.Adams 14, B.Townsend 11, A.Woolloff  8 and P.Longford 6.  For ‘The Wurzels’ C.Keely  top scored with 6.

Croft Nomads recorded their first win of the season when beating Spread Eagle 4-2 with The Spread suffering their first defeat and hitting their lowest total so far (37).  The leg scores were 13-11, 17-10, 14-16.  For The Croft N.Weston (making his first league appearance this season) 10, L.Clapton 9, B.Stowell 8 despite a first leg blob and I.Brook 7. For The Spread B.Newman 9 and D.Mott 8.
