Game reports.
The Heathens beat Ab. Con. Club 4-2 with leg scores of 18-15, 11-15, 19-7. For The Heathens D.Butler & B.Adams 12 each, D.Holmes, T.Downes & A.Woolloff 8 each. In reply for Con. Club B.Clapton & P.Barrett 11 each. The Con. Clubs 37 dolls was their highest total this season.
Ab.Legion beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 6-0 with leg scores of 14-9, 11-10, 8-7. For The Legion P.Ealey recorded his first double figures of the season (10). In reply for Utd. ‘B’ R.Taylor top scored with 11 dolls. Scoring no points mean they can no longer finsh in the top two and their 26 dolls was their lowest total of the season.
Spread Eagle ‘B’ recorded their fourth 6-0 win on the trot something not even Utd. ‘A’ have achieved. Their victims were Ab. Utd. ‘C’ and the leg scores were 10-6, 14-12, 14-8. For Spread ‘B’ B.Stowell hit 12 dolls, missing with last stick for a 6 in the second leg which would have put him in front for ‘top sixer’, L.Clapton 10 & N.Weston 8. For Utd. ‘C’ M.Ashmall top scored with 8, his highest total of the season.
Penlon missed the chance to go level at the top with Ab. Legion dropping points against Old Masters. The score was 4-2 and the leg scores were 8-13, 14-10, 9-7. For Penlon D.Bellcourt & I.Morrison 8 each & T.Lach 7. In reply for OM S.Skelly & M.Beachey 8 each & A.Pocock 7.
Ab. Utd. ‘A’ won 4-2 but were pushed by Spread Eable ‘A’and the leg scores were 14-13, 14-15, 15-9. For Utd ‘A’ D.Dix 11, T.Ward 10 (his first double this season), D.Davies 9 & B.Parker 7. For Spread ‘A’ J.Bowler 9, J.Gapper 8, S.Kinnaird & B.Newman 7 each.
