Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat Spread Eagle ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of 11-12, 10-6, 14-9. For Utd. ‘B’ K.Empson 9, S.Martin & D.Harris 7 each, M.Putt & R.Taylor 6 each. In reply for Spread ‘C’ P.Soden 9 including a 4 to take 1st leg & P.Brown 6.
The Heathens inflicted the 1st defeat of the season on Ab. Legion who recorded their equal lowest total of the season (36). The Heathens needed their get out of jail card in the 2nd leg though. The score was 6-0 with leg scores of 20-16, 12-9, 19-11. For The Heathens B.Townsend & A.Woolloff 11 each with Tosh incuding a 6 in his. D.Holmes & P.Longford 10 each and D.Butler 9. For The Legion D.Sapey 9, C.Brind failing to hit double figures for the first time managed 8. N.Hazell 7, S.Champ & P.Ealey 6 each.
Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Ab. Con. Club 4-2 with leg scores of 15-10 10-13, 12-9. For Spread ‘A’ S.Humphries 11 (his 1st double figures), J.Bowler 8, B.Newman 7 & S.Kinnaird 6. For Con. Club P.Barrett 9, D.Todd & B.Clapton 7 each.
Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat a Penlon side that recorded their highest total of the season even without the handicap. The score was 4-2 and the leg scores were 15-11, 19-14, 14-18. For Utd. ‘A’ D.Davies top scored with 12 dolls. Dave ‘New Sticks’ Dix & B.Parker 10 each, T.Ward 9 & B.Duff 7. For Penlon L.Lach, ‘Steady Eddie’ Jeffries & I.Morrison all scored 9 dolls.
Spread Eagle ‘B’ managed to drop points against Ab. Utd. ‘C’. The score was 4-2 with leg scores of 16-11, 10-11, 15-7. For Spread ‘B’ A.Bell, N.Weston & L.Clapton 10 each & I.Brook hit 6. In reply for Utd ‘C’ C.Keeley 8 and ‘Big Bad Jon’ Warrell hit 6.
