Game reports.

College Oak beat Ab. Utd. ‘A’ 4-2 with leg scores of 15-14, 10-16, 15-13. For The Oak A.Pocock 11, D.Johns 9, P.Soden & D.Cross 7 each. For Utd. ‘A’ P.Wright 12, G.Brown 9, J.Gapper 8, T.Ward & L.Clapton 7 each. Utd. ‘A’s defeat meant that Old Masters had secured top spot.

Ab. Legion beat Penlon 4-2 with leg scores of 9-7, 13-8, 6-7. For The Legion D.Sapey 9 & B.Lacey 7. For Penlon T.Phipps top scored with 8 dolls. Penlons 22 dolls was their lowest total of the season.

The Fox beat Old Masters 4-2 with leg scores of 8-13, 17-5 (yes five), 14-9. For Fox N.Weston 11, M.Sheridan 9 & D.Butler 8. For OM A.Woolloff 10 & J.Barguss 9. T.Downes, throwing in a great deal of discomfort (he had his ‘jock strap’ on back to front) managed just 1 doll. OM’s 27 dolls was easily their lowest total of the season. The Foxs’ win meant they secured runners up spot, but for Utd. ‘A’s sake I wont elaborate on it.

Spread Eagle beat Ab. Con. Club 6-0 with leg scores of 16-10, 13-11, 12-10. For The Spread J.Bowler 11, D.Mott 9, B.Newman, S.Kinnaird & M.Phillips 7 each. For Con. Club J.Castle 9 & T.Barrett 7.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 6-0 with leg scores of 14-10, 14-9, 1-7. For Utd. ‘B’ D.Davies 13, D.Holmes 9. M.Davies managed 7 dolls in the first 2 legs, but his arm tightened and his a**e twitched and got a 3rd leg blob (not sure if that will get censored). In reply for Utd. ‘C’ S.Martin & D.Harris 7 each. Utd. ‘C’s 26 dolls was their lowest total of the season.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ leapfrogged The Fox after beating them 5-1. The leg scores were 13-10, 17-13, 18-18. For Utd. ‘A’ T.Ward 13, L.Clapton 12, G.Brown 9 & P.Wright 8. For The Fox D.Butler 13, N.Weston 11 & M.Sheridan 8 (the first time he failed to hit double figures this season). The Fox chasing 19 to win the 3rd leg looked to be on course after three 5’s and a two but Barry managed just 1 doll to draw the 3rd leg. It’s a funny old game!! It’s going to be an interesting finale to the season.

p.s. I know I’m always saying about supporting the football cards and buying rolls because we need the money but last week really did take the biscuit. At the end of the night there was Brian, Bert, Simon, Jason and myself and established that we had bought 10 rolls between us, leaving the other 45 of you to buy the other 14 between you. Pathetic! Funny how you seemed to turn into a flock of vultures when there was free food to be had at Xmas. Perhaps I should intoduce a £20 registration fee for each team next season and do away with the rolls. There’s food for thought.
