Competition News:  5s Competition – The Committee have decided that because the Spread Eagle B team withdrew from the competition voluntarily that Spread Eagle go through to the Final.

Singles Competitions: with the 4 venues hosting 30 players with games running to repeat 3/1/6 stick legs in places and some high 5/6s being challenging in some of the later matches the semi-finalists are:   Dave Dix (Ab Utd B), Barry Parker (Ab Utd B), John Simmons (Spread Eagle) and Nicky Biggs (Tandem). Semi-finals/Finals will be held as part of Presentation Night on Friday 20th October at Abingdon United FC.

THIS WEEK :  Fours competitions are at Ab.Con Club and Ab.Utd FC (as per Competition Fixture list not poster or Player lists – I know we rushed it – apologies) this Thursday. Registered players are listed here.

Two matches have defaulted points this week for not entering scores online C Section Spread Eagle D vs Brewery Tap A and F Section North Star B vs Wantage Town.  We therefore need to remind you that both sides are responsible for ensuring the card is online. Either team can do it. Both teams can do it. Why are we doing this? Because if we vote to remove the central collation of paper scorecards it will all be up to each team to make sure their scores are online and that will be the only record – just like other leagues manage to do.

No change in the over 14s this week – still 8 games left !
