Game reports.

The Heathens’ highest total of the season (49) was enough to inflict a 2^nd defeat on the trot on Spread Eagle ‘B’ whose 47 dolls was their highest total also.  The score was 4-2 with leg scores of 19-18, 12-14, 18-15.  For The Heathens D.Butler 11, T.Downes, P.Longford & B.Adams each scored 10 & D.Holmes 8.  In reply for Spread ‘B’ A.Bell 12, L.Clapton 11, N.Weston 10, B.Stowell & S.Enock 7 each.

4 man Ab. Legions’ lowest total of the season (30) was enough to overcome Brown Owls 5-1 with leg scores of 11-8,13-8,6-6.  For The Legion P.Ealey 12 & D.Sapey hit 8.  For The Owls B.Robins & I.Brown each scored 6 dolls.

Penlon came from behind to beat Ab. Con. Club 4-2 with leg scores of  10-12, 13-11, 12-8.  For Penlon I.Morrison 11, T.Lach 9 & P.Stone 6. In reply for Con. Club P.Barrett 11 & B.Clapton 6.

Ab. Utd ‘A’ beat Spread Eagle ‘A’ 6-0 despite The Spread recording their highest total of the season (45).  The leg scores were 15-13, 20-17, 17-15.  For Utd ‘A’ ‘The Incredible’ Dave Dix hit 5-6-5, B.Parker 12, D.Davies 9, B.Duff 8 & K.Fisher hit 7 despite a 1^st leg blob.  For Spread ‘A’ J.Bowler 12, S.Humphries, D.Mott & J.Gapper 9 each & B.Newman 6.

Ab. Utd. ‘B’ drew 3-3 with Ab. Utd. ‘C’ with leg scores of  8-8, 9-11, 13-10.  For Utd. ‘B’ S.Martin 11, K.Souch 8 & R.Taylor 7.  P.Arnold throwing like a ruptured Bulgarian weightlifter managed just 1 doll.  For Utd. ‘C’ C.Keeley 11 & D.Warrell 6.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ survived a 1^st leg scare to beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 5-1 with leg scores of 15-15, 13-11, 17-12.  For Utd ‘A’ D.Dix 14, D.Davies & B.Duff (making his 1^st appearance) 10 each & B.Parker hit 7.  For the inspired Utd. ‘C’ Dave ‘Fox’ Warrell making his 1^st appearance included a 6 in his 11, M.James 10 & C.Keeley 8.  Jon Warrell needing 4 to take the 1^st leg just failed by missing with his last stick.  Utd. ‘C’s 38 dolls was their highest total.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ inflicted a 2^nd 6-0 defeat on the trot for an under par Penlon.  The leg scores were 14-8, 14-10, 13-5.  For Spread ‘A’ B.Newman & J.Bowler 10 each, S.Humphries 9 & J.Gapper 8.  In reply for Penlon D.Bellcourt 8 & T.Lach 7.  Penlons’ 23 dolls was their lowest total so far.

4 man Ab. Legion caused the upset of the night by beating Spread Eagle ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 11-10, 12-8, 10-14.  For The Legion S.Champ 10, P.Ealey 9, N.Hazell & D.Sapey 7 each.  For Spread ‘B’ N.Weston & L.clapton 8 each, R.Nicholls & S.Enock 6 each.

The Heathens beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 11-7, 8-9, 17-13.  For The Heathens A.Woolloff 12 (his 1^st double figures of the season), P.Longford managed a blob in his 8, D.Holmes & T.Downes each hit 6 dolls with Terry also blobbing.  For Utd ‘B’ S.Martin 9, K.Souch 7 & P.Arnold 6.  Norma Green throwing more like Norma Jean managed 2 in the 3^rd leg to avoid the dreaded X-X-X.

Ab. Con. Club managed their highest total of the season to ensure their 1^st 6-0 win of the seasaon.  It came against The Brown Owls with leg scores of 10-9, 11-10, 13-5.  For The Con. Club B.Clapton hit 11 (somehow), P.Barrett 10 & D.Todd 8.  R.North throwing like a one armed fisherman managed just 1 doll, coming in the 3^rd leg.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Brown Owls 5-1 with leg scores of 10-10, 16-9, 15-7.  For The Spread D.Mott 13, S.Humphries included a 6 in his 10 & J.Gapper hit 9.  In reply for The Owls S.Bonthron & B.Robbins each hit 7 dolls

The Heathens 1^st 6-0 win of the season came against Ab. Utd. ‘C’ with leg scores of 13-9, 16-7, 10-9.  For The Heathens P.Longford 11, B.Adams 10, D.Butler included a blob in his 7 and A.Woolloffs’ 6 included a brilliant 1 in the 3^rd leg to ensure the 6 points. lol.  For Utd. ‘C’ T.Cartlidge 7 and Jon Warrell 6.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat a spirited Penlon side 6-0 with leg scores of 19-13, 16-15, 20-17.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Davies hit a cracking 5-4-6, D.Dix & T.Ward 13 each and B.Parker 9.  For Penlon (whose 45 dolls was highest of the season) T.Lach & P.Wright 11 each, D.Bellcourt 9, E.Jeffries and I.Morrison 7 each although Ian did have a 2^nd leg blob.  I have checked every match card since the start of the 07-08 season and this is the only game to have 100 dolls scored.  This eclipses the 99 scored on week 1 of the 07-08 season between The Fox and Ab. Utd. ‘A’ where N.Nuttall & G.Brown each recorded a 6.  The only other match to have 99 dolls scored was week 12 of the 13-14 season between Spread Eagle and Old Masters where G.Bargus hit a 6. Phew.

Spread Eagle ‘B’ beat Ab. Con. Club 6-0 with leg scores of 14-10, 7-5, 19-8.  For Spread ‘B’ B.Stowell 10, L.Clapton 9, S.Enock 8, N.Weston 7 & A.Bell 6.  In reply for Con. Club P.Barrett 8 & B.Clapton 7.  Con. Clubs 23 dolls was their lowest total so far.

Ab. Legion beat Ab. Utd ‘B’ 5-1 with leg scores of  9-9, 16-8, 13-4.  For The Legion S.Champ included a 6 in his 13 (his 1^st double of the season), P.Ealey 9 & D.Sapey 6.  In reply for Utd ‘B’ S.Martin top scored with 7 in their lowest total so far of 21.  N.Green scored 1 in the 3^rd leg to avoid the dreaded X-X-X.

The Heathens drew 3-3 with Ab. Legion whose 43 dolls was their highest total of the season – b******s.  The leg scores were 17-17, 19-12, 11-14.  For The Heathens P.Longford & B.Adams 11 each, D.Holmes 10, A.Woolloff  9 & D.Butler failed to hit double figures for the 1^st time in hitting 6 dolls.  In reply for The Legion C.Brind 11 (his first double figures), P.Ealey 10, B.Lacey 8, D.Sapey & S.Champ 7 each.

Ab. Con. Club. scored their highest total so far (34) in recording their 1^st win of the season.  They beat Ab. Utd. ‘B’ 4-2 with leg scores of 12-8, 7-14, 15-11.  For Con. Club P.Barrett 11, M.Neal 7 & D.Coles hit 6.  For Utd ‘B’ R.Taylor & S.Martin 8 each and P.Arnold 7.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ inflicted a first defeat of the season on Spread Eagle ‘B’ with a 4-2 win.  The leg scores were 10-14, 16-12, 17-11. S.Humphries inspired Spread ‘A’ with 13 dolls (his 1^st double figures), B.Newman also recorded his 1^st double figures of the season (10), D.Mott & J.Gapper each hit 8 dolls.  In reply for Spread ‘B’ N.Weston 10, A.Bell 9, L.Clapton 8 & B.Stowell 7.  R.Nicholls hit a ‘Nelson’ – 1-1-1, if you don’t know what that stands for, just ask.

Penlon beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 5-1 with leg scores of 10-5, 9-9, 10-6.  For Penlon T.Lach 8 & D.Bellcourt hit 7.  Utd. ‘C’ s 20 dolls was their lowest total so far.  M.Ashmall top scored with 6 dolls. What a double that would have been – Donald Trump to win U.S.A. presidency election and Matt Ashmall to top score for Utd. ‘C’. Wish I’d had a fiver on that.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ beat Brown Owls 6-0 with leg scores of14-7, 19-4, 14-9.  D.Dix & B.Parker 12 each, K.Fisher 10 & D.Davies 9.  I.Brown top scored for The Owls with 6 dolls.

We will start this competition on the 23^rd of  November at 7-30 prompt.  I am hoping to play the 8 scheduled games on this night so that everyone gets to play but this will mean the co-operation of  the 2 teams due to play a second game hanging around.  Captains, hold on to this info and relay it to your players.  Not going to hand this out to all teams as nobody actually hangs on to it.  Out of the 10 captains that had the Fives sheet 4 had to ask what time they were on – unbelieveable.  Go on, say it, I’m sounding more and more like Victor Meldrew.  This will be displayed on the notice board and on the website.   

Following is a revised ‘A’ Section table as last weeks match card between Spread Eagle ‘A’ and Ab. Utd. ‘B’ showed discrepencies due to someone not being able to add up properly.  Not fair to mention names but he had the initials of J.G. lol.

Penlons’ lowest total so far (27) was just enough to overcome Brown Owls 4-2 with leg scores of  9-8, 11-9, 7-9.  For Penlon D.Bellcourt 8 & P.Stone 7.  In reply for The Owls B.Robbins 9 & P.Brown hit 7.  I.Brown needing 1 to draw the 1^st leg managed to blob – t*****.  Answers on a postcard.

Ab. Utd. ‘A’ dropped points for the first time after a 3-3 draw against Spread eagle ‘B’.  The leg scores were 13-15, 19-14, 15-15.  For Utd. ‘A’ D.Dix included a 6 in his 15, B.Parker 9, D.Davies & K.Fisher 8 each & T.Ward 7.  For Spread ‘B’ L.Clapton hit 14 consecutive doll’s in his 6-6-2.  B.Stowell 10, A.Bell & N Weston 8 each.  A cracking game from the league’s top two teams.

Ab.Legion beat Ab. Utd. ‘C’ 4-2 with leg scores of 10-8, 13-7, 10-11.  For The Legion C.Brind recorded his 4^th score of  9 on the trot.  D.Sapey 8, P.Ealey & N.Hazell 6 each.  In reply for Utd. ‘C’ M.James & T.Harrhy 8 each and C.Keeley 6.

Spread Eagle ‘A’ beat Ab.Utd. ‘B’ 5-1 with leg scores of 14-11, 14-12, 12-12.  For The Spread  D.Mott 14, S.Humphries 9, J.Bowler 8 & S.Kinnaird 6.  For Utd. ‘B’ Roy ‘The Pope’ Taylor 11, S.Martin 9 & K.Souch hit 7.

The Heathens struggled (again) to a 4-2 win over Ab. Con. Club with leg scores of  9-14, 16-9,16-9.  For The Heathens D.Butler 11, T.Downes 10, J.Ellaway 8 & A.Woolloff  7.  In reply for Con. Club Brian ‘Cracker’ Clapton top scored with 10 dolls (no this is not a typing error).  A.Wood (making his debut) & P.Barrett each scored 8 dolls.
